October 2013 Newsletter

Students, Family and Friends,

Hope you all had a great Summer – it all went by so fast! We had fun training outside on our Wednesday nights – we had a good group that came our regularly and we had some great soccer games as well as outdoor Tae Kwon Do training! We will do this again next year.

We also had our annual TKD School PICINC on Aug 24th at Sunnybrook – we had beautiful weather again. There was some great food brought by our students and friends and we had two BBQ’s going – we all especially liked the Korean short ribs we cooked! Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a fun event.

Now we have the colder weather coming and lots of reasons to start training hard again before the Holiday season. We will be starting a new Family Class on Sunday (see details below).

I would also like to congratulate Adam (Silver medal) and Michael (Gold medal) at the recent Tae Kwon Do Tournament (Jung Ko’s Canadian Classic) on Oct 5th. A great accomplishment!!

Please have a great Fall season – and please remember – keep training, be healthy, and have a positive attitude in everything you do!

June 2013 Newsletter

Students, Family and Friends,

Hope you are all enjoying the summer weather we are now having!

We just completed our Black Belt testing this past weekend at the school which was a very rewarding experience for us as masters and instructors, as well as for the students. The dedication to achieving a Black Belt can never be under-estimated. As we always remind the students – once they get to Black Belt their real journey is just beginning in Tae Kwon Do – there is so much more to strive towards mentally and physically as they go to “Black Belt and BEYOND”!

The weekly YOGA classes are now starting every Wednesday from 8pm-9pm at the school. For those interested please sign up – it is $150 for 10 weeks. We have a professional YOGA instructor who will run the classes at the school. We also have our Outdoor training starting on Wednesday’s (@5pm for Kids and 6:30pm for Adults) at the North Toronto football field on Roehampton Ave – across from the school parking lot)

As a reminder – we will be holding our annual School Summer Picnic on Sat August 24th at Sunnybrook Park – will be sending out details soon.

We have lots of great things to look forward to – Have a Great Summer!

Students, Family and Friends,

Hope you are all excited for spring and summer coming up! We have many exciting things happening at our school.

As you may know we just attended our first Tae Kwon Do “Tournament” for this year on April 6th at Ryerson – it was a chance for our Competition Team to get their first experience and compete in Sparring and Forms. Everyone enjoyed it and we also learnt a lot from the experience. We will be attending 2-3 more tournaments this year as part of the Competition team agenda. **Please see our Facebook page for movies and pictures from the Tournament**

We also have our Black Belt testing coming up at the beginning of June and we will be holding our annual School Summer Picnic in August – this year we will be combining the picnic with our “Break-a-Thon” – we will be sending out details soon.

Have a great spring and summer!

Students, Family, and Friends,

A Happy New Year to all – I hope you all have a fantastic and awesome 2013!!

We had our 5th annual new year Cleansing Training on Saturday Jan 12th. We had a great turnout – with a few new guests – and lots of sweat and energy in the room! We trained for 2 hours and experienced a real “cleansing” of our bodies! Congratulations to all of those who came and trained with us – it was not easy at all – and we admire the efforts from everyone who came. This cleansing training gave everyone a great start to the new year!

Our school also celebrated its15th year in business at the same location – this has been a great accomplishment! We had Party & Gala following the cleansing training – with lots of great food, children’s games, a talent show, music, and FUN! Thank you to all who have supported our school over the last few years.
